Hi all
Noticed bad smell in my drain out side put my hand down and it unclogged it for now however I checked my sewer drain and after flushing my toilet a good few times nothing is going to the sewer so don't know is there a blockage or what way it works many thanks and advice would be grateful

In many parts of the country there are two systems. One is for rainwater, with open gulleys below downpipes from gutters, etc. The other is for disposing of 'grey/brown' household water (from washing, baths, showers, toilets, etc.) The two systems are separate.

Thanks so much it's just the drain where water comes out from kitchen sinks that is stinking really bad just don't know what to do as I have decking above the pipe work etc thanks pal

If the gulley was blocked for more than a short time the grey water from the kitchen will have spilled over and soaked into the soil. The smell will likely persist while the organic matter, especially fat, in the grey-water breaks down in the soil. Unfortunately, boxing it in with decking will probably prolong the time needed for the smell to dissipate by preventing sunlight and rain getting to the affected area.

IMO, you need to install an inspection hatch in the decking so you have decent access to the drain for cleaning and maintenance. (This should have included when the decking was installed.) If the smell persists for longer than you want to tolerate it for, get a drains specialist to advise. It's not my area of expertise but AFAIK the usual remedy is to treat the contaminated soil with hydrated lime. This is not something an amateur should attempt as the stuff is dangerous and there's an obvious risk of pollution.
