Discuss Gas pipe sleeve for 28mm in the Plumbing Jobs | The Job-board area at PlumbersForums.net
What do you use to sleeve 28mm pipe? Years ago I used to use 1 1/4" pipe. But you shouldn't use that as it should be suitable for carrying gas?
You’ll be fine with the push fit one, not the solvent weld.
I buy 35mm pipe by the metre for this purpose , feel like a right diyer buying a metre of pipe though !What do you use to sleeve 28mm pipe? Years ago I used to use 1 1/4" pipe. But you shouldn't use that as it should be suitable for carrying gas?
Why push fit and not solvent weld?

Thought it was supposed to be fire proof we always sleeve with copper and donky plick.
does not have to be fireproof, asked gassafe this question recentlyThought it was supposed to be fire proof we always sleeve with copper and donky plick. Un like national grid on an undersized re run
So sleeve was 100mm at best on a 375 wall
Donkey plick???
you have to remember em does not speak English as we know it,its more cockney rhyming slang crossed with a martian with no tongue and laryngitisDonkey plick???
you cant sleeve copper with iron though differential corrosionpersonally I do all mine in copper or iron. If plastic is used, and some numpty goes in after, they do not know if is pvc or abs, there is no mistaking iron or copper. Obviously gets a bit expensive in the 35 or 42 mm sizes
Solvent weld pipe can be pvc or abs so unless its abs it can be used as sleve
always best if the sleeve is as strong or stronger than the pipe going through it IMPO. abs should be avoided.
i wonder if waste pipe has been tested for gas permeability or whatever the term is.
