Hi guys,
I know this has probably cropped up a million times before but... overflow runs occasionally when heating is on ( vented system ). I changed the ball valve in the F&E tank as is was ancient and in a bad state - also lowered the water level in the tank by a couple of inches but not...

I fitted a shower pump a year ago. The extra draw of water from the cold tank was churning up some lime scale at the bottom of the tank this at one point (a few months later) stopped the WC torbeck valve from stopping and filled cistern to overflow. Unluckily wasps had made a nest in the...

Absolutely made up with it! Was an en-suite for a mate, there was nothing in there before, used to be like a cylinder cupboard so pipes were under the floor or in the next room. Got it done in a day, just nipping back wednesday to do a bit of tiling.
What are your experiences with these...

Hi All
This is my first post on the forum, and know little about plumbing. But here is my problem.
My header tanks keeps overflowing. I have replaced the ball valve and checked this several times for leaks to which there is none. So I can confirm that it is not the Ball valve. The tank...

just thinking of the best way to organise fittings like 15mm tees/elbows 22mm fittings pipe clips etc. do you use a compartment organiser box to take into properys or somthing like it or just take in a handfull of the bits you need from a bag in the van?
ideas/pics?

Hi guys,
I'm a little naive about these things so after a bit of advice before I get anyone round to quote.
Basically, I've been contacted by my flat management company to say that my external overflow pipe is too short and may allow water back into the building.
I have checked to make...

Hi All
I noticed recently that the water in my expansion tank was warm to the touch and in the last few days water have been dripping out of the overflow pipe as a result of the condensation.
The ironic thing is that it only drips in the morning but not in the afternoon.
As its summer, only...

I have a condenser bolier and have heard that black grit can accumulate in the condense outlet pipe. The reason I've been looking into this is that the copper pipe into the waste pipe is blocked with grit and I'm guessing it must have been either a reaction with the copper or a product of the...

We have a leak in a pressurised c.h. system which runs off a combi boiler. We've checked all the visible parts of the system such as radiator valves, etc., and looked for stains on ceilings but found nothing. So, we assume the leak is occuring underneath the floorboards. Having read in...

Hi,
I was reading on some old revision exam papers that that the only place permitted for a BS1212 part 1 valve is in a F and E tank?
Is this a glitch, my understanding is part 1 valves are only allowed in a wc off a cws?
Please can someone advise?
Thanks

Hi
We've been getting leaked on for several months from above – there's a patch of about 2 foot of damp in our new kitchen ceiling. We've had several plumbers out to look at the two flats above and they have not managed to diagnose the problem. Now the council have been out a few times and...
