Hi, I seemed to have a blockage in kitchen sink. A plumber came and cleared all the pipework that is visible inside my home (there was debris and pebbles!) We saw that the pipe that takes water down the gutter was visibly full to the top. He said he will return with a coil to push through...
I am in process of replacing an existing sink with a new stainless steel one. The existing tap is plumbed directly to copper which means that it is earthed. The new tap will use flexible tails and so will not be earth bonded. My initial search for information suggests that there is no legal...
My parents have a leak from kitchen sink. My dad removed waste trap and since refitted it leaks, but there wasn’t any kind of seal on it, I got a rubber/plastic gasket that seems
To fit the trap but with it, I can’t get it to screw and lock back on (has lugs so locks after quarter turn. But...
Good afternoon,
Just looking for some general advise, I'm renovating my kitchen and need to disconnect my kitchen sink pipes while I re-plaster the room and wait for my new sink to arrive. So I need to temporary cap off the two below connections cant seem to find what is the best way to do this.
I removed three of these sections to clean and when I put them back together I noticed leaking.
Please can you advise on how to attach them correctly.
Thank you.
Hello I’m not going to explain this very well but I will try my best. I’m planning on installing a kitchen sick by myself with no plumbing experience. I will be going from a double sink to a single basin. The part im having trouble figuring out is how to put the pipes back together with the...
Hi I have a little problem or a question if all you experienced people can put me straight please? I am just a bit surprised - I had a call out for a plumbing job - in London - the flat is rented out.
The kitchen sink was blocked. I called out one company, they did not fix it, and that was £95...
Can this be fixed?
The grill on the overflow on our kitchen sink fell out yesterday. I can feel whatever the grill was connected to when I put my finger in the hole, but can't see how I can get it back into position and screw the grill to it. Any suggestions please??
Just finished installing a second kitchen sink/new worktop/cupboard doors and painting end panels etc.
30mm thick worktop, what a pain to fit, damn heavy!
Hi there
Could someone help identify the waste pipe (think that's what it is) coming from the bottom of the basin/plug hole, feeding into the other pipes?
It has a leak where it connects to the bottom of the basin, so I'm thinking about replacing it if it's a standard part.
If so can you tell...
Hello - I really need some solid advice. I recently purchased a home that has started having an awful smell coming from kitchen sink. I've cleaned multiple times, including p-pipe. Finally called a plumber & they said they will have to tear out the wall & lower the pipe where my kitchen piping...
I have a project where we'd like to put a kitchen in the living room to create an open plan. The would mean the sink waste running the length of the kitchen circa 3m and then circa another 3m to get out to the waste stack. Most joists run the right way ( subject to any noggins) however we'd need...
We had a hard freeze here in Louisiana last week. We are back to warmer temperatures outside now 71•degrees. All my faucets and showers are able to run water except for my kitchen sink faucet. My dishwasher even works. Just one single drip of water every 5 seconds out of my kitchen sink faucet...
Hi all. Any suggestions on what trap/fittings to use on a sink as I need to turn 90degrees as soon as I can? The sink is moving into a unit with space very limited and I can’t just core a new hole. I’ve found a few bits but nothing I can get over the counter at a merchants. Cheers folks
Hi, I've been trying to fix a leak from under the kitchen sink. I replaced a number of components and fixed one leak from the trap, but now have another leak from the join to the waste pipe. See below (1).
I have 2 different types of pipe (2 & 3) and not sure how to connect them to a tight seal...
I have just had a new kitchen sink installed, and the plumber filled it to the top and told me not to use it for 48 hours to ensure the sealant sets. Told if we use it beforehand, it could move. Is this correct sounds like a long time for the sealant to set.
Just looking for some advice, I have just fitted a new kitchen sink and both water pressures are the same in hot and cold on the mixer tap, both connected to tap flexies with shut off valves, however when hot is turned on it is not turning on the hot water for the boiler, previous sink had...
Hello, My one and half bowl kitchen sink drain seems to be airlocked or blocked, not sure. I've P traps installed, I've to constantly open air vent valve to let water drain. When I open the air valve water drain freely so may be it's not blocked but air locked? I'm attaching image. Any...
Hi everyone,
I want to purchase the following filter to put under my kitchen sink but am not sure if it will be able to fit the copper pipes as they may be too narrow for the fit.
Any advice would be appreciated...
