Replacing outdoor P-Trap Gully with Bottle Gully

Hi all, I'm installing a concrete patio out back. By the wall under the kitchen sink I have an existing P-Trap gully for the grey water from the sink, dishwasher, washing machine etc. When I pour the concrete there won't be any chance to dig it up anymore. From my own research I get the...

Covering shallow sewer pipe under concrete Patio

Coming back with measurements, tops of the pipes are 20cm from the top of the manholes. I also did some tests with the neighbour when we had them opened. You were indeed correct in that the rainwater and greywater are not mixed. Although the pipe from my house is definitely the grey water...

Covering shallow sewer pipe under concrete Patio

Thanks. I'll take a measurement tomorrow and come back to you. In the meantime, with regard to my original picture, does that pipe at the wall seem a bit shallow? Is there a minimum regulated depth it should be below the surface?

    Extending outdoor tap and drain

Hi, I just wanted to clarify a few points to make sure I'm on the same page. You mentioned a back-inlet gully which I was confused by as the proposed new gully would be on the end of the pipe. However, after a bit of reading I'm thinking maybe I'd be better off replacing the existing P-trap...

Covering shallow sewer pipe under concrete Patio

I can't say for sure because none of the pipework in my neighbour's house are exposed but it definitely isn't used for cables and the pipe runs alongside my own one that is definitely used for grey water. There is also a rain water gully just to the other...

    Extending outdoor tap and drain

Thanks ShaunCorbs, Is the 750mm deep just for protection from freezing or is there some other (e.g. sanitary) reason? Is there a particular type of ducting for water pipe or would any do? Any chance you could elaborate a bit on your last sentence? I don't really get what you mean. Thanks for...

    Extending outdoor tap and drain

Hello all, I'm would like to extend an existing outside tap to another point in the garden. I'm about to pour a concrete patio and was hoping to run the water line underneath. There are existing drain (and who knows what) pipes running along the same wall so I'm nervous about digging too far...

Covering shallow sewer pipe under concrete Patio

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...
